I admit I’m still booking most of my travel with booking.com, so that’s in line with your thinking.

On the other hand, I’m getting increasingly tired of the artificial scarcity approach (since before I knew the proper name for it) and if someone told me I can get the same experience without the bullshit, I’d switch in a second. (I already did something similar when I was shopping for a used car. I left a car dealership whenever they started with the all-too-usual manipulation.) From my conversations with friends and colleagues, it seems I’m not the only one.

In short, I think the tide turns, especially with the more savvy (often more affluent) consumers.
